Ganesha Tanjore Painting
A magnificent Tanjore painting of Lord Ganesha, portrayed seated majestically upon a blooming pink lotus within an intricately crafted ceremonial mandapa. The composition combines traditional iconography with exceptional detailing, creating a richly layered and commanding artwork.
Lord Ganesha is adorned with elaborate jewellery, a finely worked crown, layered ornaments, and traditional vastrams, all brought to life through intricate gesso work and radiant gold detailing. The embossed mandapa frames the deity with remarkable sculptural depth, featuring ornate pillars, arches, decorative canopies, and finely articulated elements that give the painting an almost three-dimensional presence.
At the base of the composition, Mushika, Ganesha’s vahana, appears on one side, while a majestic lion stands on the other, creating a distinctive and regal arrangement. The vibrant pink lotus provides a refined contrast to the extensive gold work and richly detailed architectural setting.
