Shiva Parvati as Tribal Hunter and Huntress
KirataMurti is a form of lord Shiva where he appears as a hunter in the epic of Mahabharata. After austere penance/tapas of Arjuna, Lord Shiva was satisfied with his prayer and took form of a Hunter and Devi Parvati as a Huntress. At that time there was a demon by the name MukAsura, who took the form of a wild boar to kill Arjuna. Both Arjuna and Kirata shot an arrow and killed the wild boar at the same time. An argument ensued between them to prove supremacy over one another. This eventually lead to wrestling. Soon Arjuna realized that it was none other than lord Shiva and begged for forgiveness. Pleased by his devotion and penance lord Shiva gave him the invincible PashupatAstra.
